In this month’s product release, we are excited to announce a range of new features and improvements designed to enhance your experience with Hoylu. Here’s what’s new:

Task Management Enhancements

  • Ad Hoc Team Creation
    • Administrators can now create teams directly from the task editor, streamlining the process of assigning tasks.
  • Improved Task Drop and Date Setting
    • Tasks dropped into a plan are immediately visible with set dates, enhancing user experience and alignment with expectations.
    • Option to make the team field on tasks optional, allowing for flexibility in task assignments.
  • Planned vs. Actual Crew Size Reporting
    • Users can now track both planned and actual crew sizes, with the field name changed from “people” to “crew size”.
    • This feature is included in CSV exports for further analysis.

Milestone Management

  • Milestone Import via CSV

    • Ability to import milestones using CSV files, identifying them by a zero-day duration.
    • Milestones are imported along with tasks but are distinguished by their duration.
  • Milestone Export

    • Export functionality now includes milestones, with a type field indicating whether an entry is a task or a milestone.
    • Exported data can be reimported, maintaining the distinction between tasks and milestones.

Bug Fixes and User Experience Enhancements

  • Perceived Data Loss in Text Boxes

    • Resolved an issue where text boxes appeared to disappear when starting with a bullet point.
    • Correctly resizing text boxes to ensure data is visible and intact.
  • User Notifications and Warnings

    • Added prompts to prevent users from closing the tab when they have unsynced changes.
    • Clear notifications indicating the status of connectivity and data synchronization.

Connectivity and Data Handling

  • Enhanced Connectivity Handling
    • Improved warnings for users experiencing connection issues.
    • Mechanisms to prevent data loss when Internet connectivity is lost and later regained without reloading the app.
    • Notifications to alert users of unsynced changes and the importance of reconnecting to the Internet.
  • Connection Status Indicators

    • Improved indicators for connection status, including notifications for unsynced changes and guidance on reconnecting.
  • Smart Reloading of Images

    • Implemented smart reloading for images that failed to load initially, eliminating the need to reload the entire workspace.
    • Users can now click on grey image placeholders to trigger an automatic reload.
  • Option to Download Embedded Images

    • Enabled downloading of embedded images for use in other applications.
