How trade contractors
use Hoylu

Trade contractors use Hoylu for much more than pull planning. Hoylu is your tool for task creation, setting durations, manpower tracking, and more. Keep tabs on time-sensitive information such as submittals or RFIs with links for quick access, and track fabrication schedules to better coordinate your machine shop with your site work.

A Letter from James Lessard

Eric Crawford & the Hoylu Team,

I wanted to reach out to you and the Hoylu team to share Piquette & Howard’s satisfaction and progress with the Hoylu software over the past year.

First, I want to express the obvious in that pull planning is becoming a major part of our projects both internally and through the general contractors on a majority of our projects. I have been an advocate for pull planning the last 10 years and currently train Piquette & Howard’s lead foremen and project managers on the Hoylu software. Pull planning is becoming the lead tool/resource for scheduling and coordination on projects and we are glad to be ahead of the curve.

I want to provide some experience in my representing the Hoylu pull plan software to us as an electrical contractor but also some of our clients we work for. After training our lead foremen on the Hoylu platform, they were able to easily adjust to other platforms being used by general contractors. I think this is extremely important and appreciate the detail in compatibility with other software. While using Hoylu and inviting GC’s or clients to participate they are excited to see how Hoylu works and the benefits it creates for project schedule and coordination. I’m also able to show them features Hoylu has that your competitors lack!

When Piquette & Howard signed a one-year contract we discussed your planned upcoming changes to your software that would enhance your platform and create a more friendly end user experience. I’m more than pleased with what the Hoylu team was able to generate and it’s great to know your team listens to its clients and delivers results. Your team is extremely interactive and in my opinion second to none. It proves a lot when you deliver results suggested by your clients.

Piquette & Howard is more than satisfied with what Hoylu has to offer and are excited to continue the relationship we built this past year. We understand that pull planning is the way of the future in the construction industry and Piquette & Howard is focused on staying ahead of our competitors. We look forward to growing, learning, and teaching the pull plan process to our employees and our GC/clients.

FAQs

Is Hoylu onboarding difficult?

Hoylu onboarding is fast and easy. Get started quickly with an invitation to the platform, and learn by doing with our Knowledgebase, in-app user guidance, and tutorial videos.

Is Hoylu for trade contractors?

Trade contractors see significant benefits from using Hoylu. The ability to create a more accurate schedule via pull planning, the minimization of risk through detailed project documentation, and the highlighting of dependencies, handoffs, and constraints all offer tangible business benefits for trades.

Does Hoylu reduce risk for trade contractors?

With Hoylu, you have a forensic record of your project, included what work was committed by whom, and when, and the reason any work wasn’t done on schedule. Hoylu protects trade contractors from being held liable for delays or damage outside of their control.

What if the GC doesn’t want to use Hoylu?

Some of our trade contractor users use Hoylu to plan their own work in addition to planning tools in use by the general contractor. While it’s always better to have everyone involved in the project working together in Hoylu, you can still get value from trade-directed usage.

Can Hoylu be used for prefab or modular construction?

Hoylu has been used for years by some of the biggest industrial manufacturers in the world. Our platform excels at coordinating manufacturing and fabrication planning with field planning. Hoylu’s unified planning covers your entire involvement in a project, and helps you improve performance and save money in every phase.
