Cut through the noise

New launch: Focus Mode

Over the years we’ve heard from users around the world that one of their biggest challenges in project planning is the ability to quickly and easily focus on the information that matters to them.

We wanted to provide a solution that worked within our current workspace but didn’t introduce any new communication challenges in the process. Our users’ projects and processes are so different that we knew we needed to keep control in their hands while providing a usability improvement that allows them to manage complex workspaces more efficiently.

Enter Focus Mode. Focus Mode enables users to apply focus or highlight a specific subset of elements based on various criteria, like status or labels, and it works directly in the plan throughout the entire workspace, even in overview mode, to quickly locate relevant data.

Tip: If you’re working within a large plan and don’t immediately see the information you’ve focused on, you can press the F key to find the next focused element. To enable focus Mode, press control + shift + F, or you can also press function F2 or F to enable it as well.

Here are some ideas on how to use Focus Mode:

  • Finding all tasks assigned to you or your team.
  • Locating all tasks with a certain status recorded.
  • Within diagrams or drawings in the whiteboard area, you can focus on strokes or lines if you know there are areas with markup applied.
  • Conversely, to see underlying images with no annotations on top, you can focus on images only to view their original state.
  • Using tools like mind maps, filter by labels to search by a task assignee, department, or any other label you included.
